been playing a lot of mmo lately
Binding of Isaac here and there. Other stuff too, but nothing particularly exciting. I think it's time to find a new game to play.
That's incredible! I've considered doing one of these but I've been too lazy. I hope you're having fun, I love Diablo and Resident Evil!
I've been playing a lot of Battlefield lately myself.
I picked up Disgaea because it was cheap. I tried it before, but didn't get into it, so I'll give it another go.
I've been planning to play Tsukihime. I think it'll be my next long VN.
It is one of my favorite visual novels! You should definitely give it a try, especially if you love super otaku urban fantasy!
I'll be sure to post my thoughts when I finish it.
uwaa too much side content. But if it's like the first game you gotta do it to unlock the fun stuff…
I've always been meaning to reread all of Key's vns. Might start Kanon this winter after the first snowday…
You know, I think both Kanon and Clannad are best played around that time…I have to play Air in the Summer though…>>591
I like Nayuki and Ayu the most!!
Thats actually exactly what I was thinking. Play Kanon and Clannad this winter then Air in the summer and go from there…
Yeah, I really liked Clannad's soundtrack and I'm enjoying Kanon's.
I enjoy Hinoue Itaru's art. It's cute
and there's something comforting about it.>>597
I was going to wait until winter, but I got impatient. Maybe I should have gone with Air instead, but I really wanted to read something snowy. I'll read Air in the winter for something warm to get me through the cold months.
My favorite thing about Air is it's setting. I love the seaside town, it feels so magical and peaceful.
You could have just asked nicely…
gothic atmosphere kino
wish there were more horror jrpgs
A neat little roguelite ship shooty game I found while going through bundle games. I find it pretty fun but I've never seen it talked about anywhere. Might be since it originally released back when these games were coming out every day.>>781>>797
Been a while since I've played a nice long RPG. Been thinking about starting up the Ultima games again.
, have fun with the new PC fren.
I started playing No Man's Sky the other day, now I'm exploring and taking it easy in space.
The reason you can't find it is since the guy who made it hoarded it to himself, they only post it to show off I think. They did a Miku face too.
I've been working on my own mod that adds Touhou girls though, and went a step further and added the full bodies. I'm not sure how many girls I'll add, but I'll do that Mokou too. I plan to upload it once I'm fairly satisfied with it.
aaaa, I want it
will you do yuuka?
Making just the heads like that one guy did is actually pretty easy! Making the entire body though is kind of tough, so I'm not sure how much I'll actually wind up doing even though I wish I could say I'd like to do a lot of the girls.
I'll definitely upload it somewhere when it's got a bit more meat to it though. I only have around 4 full-body girls right now, the rest are just disembodied heads like that one Mokou you posted.
My mistake. You get 1 whole single pull every 10 matches per day.
I'm playing soku today. Arcade mode as you can supposedly unlock Okuu and Suwako with it. I'm using Sanae today. She's really fun to play and I'm doing pretty good.
I don't think they're all that special, but I don't really play fighting games usually.
got a new game for nentendo to play this weekend
its a lot of fun, I'm not very far though. I got stuck for a half hour because i couldn't find the destructable wall i needed to break but it really reminds me of the old GBA metroid games. The elevator loading screens between zones feel really long, like a minute or so but once you're in the zone it feels really seamless.
vindicta is a fun arma mod
the Cuties Liberation Front (CLF) will free nenistan from its oppressors
Looks like a fun mod. Guess Arma 3 has a lot better performance than the previous games. Arma 2 would implode if you tried something that complex on it.
Oh no, the motorbike pokemons look super sussy-wussy. I like the old concept of having a bike and using pokemons for flying and swimming. It emphasized technology and pokemons coexisting in the same world and both having their own merits and usecases. Or something. Luckily I'm not the target audience anymore.
If anything, I'm waiting for Bayonetta 3 if we are talking Switch, but I'm playing a bunch of RPGs at the moment so I probably won't get it on release, I'm not in a hurry.
I spent an hour playing solitaire. I wonder how many hours total I've played solitaire. I used to play it all the time while I was in school.
Does nen play solitaire?
So I decided to play just now and was reminded of how fun Sakuya is too…she has some fun zoning opportunities and above all else her Spell Cards look cool
I suck at fighting games, so I don't really try to learn anything more than the basic moveset. Anything more is pretty much beyond me especially outside of practice mode. It's good enough for most games' arcade modes and the off chance I play against someone else that isn't great at fighters.
I mostly like that these games tend to have a lot of care put into them without taking itself too seriously. All the fun little details really show the passion
the team has for their game and any source materials they draw from.
I actually find it easier for me to get better at the ones listed because I care a lot about the original series they came from…at that point I feel like I have to do it justice!>All the fun little details really show the passion the team has for their game and any source materials they draw from.
This is my favorite part too well said. Oh! I think the best testament to this is having stages that are locations that I recognize! I love getting to visit my favorite places in Misaki Town or Rokkenjima.
I'm trying out Silent Hill 3 on PC today. It looks amazing compared to the PS2 version. I think the game had too many small details for 480p to do it justice. Even 720p makes a massive difference alongside 60fps.
Japanese Windows 3.1
And other games I saw that weren't just ports of PC98 stuff. Also ancient freeware that's still being hosted on vector.
Thanks! Would have changed the color of the task bar and other things but I know that usually causes display problems in some programs. Too many people just stick to and develop around the defaults.
Please, do mention any games you liked and or recommendations that you want to play. It's always nice to go back to these lost gems.
I tried playing Touhou: WBaWC eariler. Turns out Windows XP isn't supported. As far as I know, I can only play 6-16, and maybe the PC-98 games (I haven't tried). I played a little bit of SA instead. I almost made it to stage 4 in a one off attempt.
I heard about it. I think it's really cool
. I'm really looking forward to it. I was worried about all this Silent Hill talk recently, but I think Ryukishi could do it justice.
victoria 3! its out!
BIG RANT: I wish games used more storage, storage is fucking cheap and it gets cheaper over the time, unlike render power. I wish game developers made games without regards to storage needs because that's something that improves very cheaply
im glad they dont, pc-chan needs all the space it can get for all the massive anime episode files nowadays
What would you use massive amounts of storage for besides large textures/models/other graphical assets that go hand in hand with render power? I don't think you can uncouple the two.
I played lanfang in victoria 3, in indonesia, on borneo
I went to annex a territory in northern java for the population. Siak.
I swayed great britain to my side in the incident, and siak spain.
Siak and I then waited, mobilizing our generals but doing *nothing* with them, we sat tight waiting to see who'd win while britain and spain fought a big destructive land war in europe over whether lanfang annexes siak.
I let the first villager leave my island. I always stopped everyone else. Feels wrong
thinking about getting xenoblade for switch wondering if any nenpos played it and if it was ii ne
I haven't played it, X was woof woofs.
They're very good games, I highly recommend. Start with the first one, and if you like it, play 2 and 3 as well.>>1839
I haven't played Xenoblade X, but from what I know it's good too. It's unrelated to the other Xenoblade games though, and conceptually it feels more like a Xenosaga game.
I need to finish Xenoblade still… 1&2…
How do nenpos make more time to play games? I hoarded a bunch already and I'm already low-effort optimizing my life but I'm still not satisfied.
I really enjoy playing video games, every minute is extremely exciting to me. I'm not particularly good, and I definitely play too many different games instead of sticking to just one, but the entire time I'm having fun.
I suppose try and find something that's fun and let yourself enjoy it.
Well, it's not about enjoying the games, it's about finding time to play. I enjoy my games a lot as well, it's art
This is what I meant, I enjoy this enough to prioritize it.
i like playing lots of different games too! gonna play the new pokemon this weekend
Tbh I should. Very spicy image btw
marisab is better dude
I wish Sega remastered all 3 games and released them for current gen platforms. The second one was already brushing up against the Switch' limits but I heard the third is flying too close to the sun. A disc release collection would be awesome
marisa b is really fun, thanks for the advice
her speed and her bomb are really fun, and her patchy fight isn't disgusting
i'll be alternating between reimu b and marisa b
I forgot to mention I'm thinking Bayonetta
I didn't really enjoy Bayonetta 3. It feels like a huge step down from the previous 2 games. Even ignoring the performance issues, it feels like they made a lot of choices I didn't like.
Monster Hunter Rise for home consoles confirmed. That's an interesting one. Will it look as good as MH World? I have my doubts.
Something like the current PC version, with slightly lowered settings and 60 nens per second.
I'm going to play video games all day and nothing can stop me!
ehehe been playing around with streaming my vita to my pc.
I liked my Vita, it was meow meows.
I got a PSTV for $20 when every store was trying to get rid of them. One of the best deals I ever got.
really liked gravity rush and p4g some of my favorite games just wish it had gotten more
I was reading recently that Sony could have chosen a more powerful chip for the Vita that would have helped with some of the more demanding games. Something like raising the 20FPS in Borderlands to 40FPS potentially. That would've been nice. Oh well.
I liked playing gravity rush too that game is nice and meow meows
Frames on mobile hardware are extremely expensive, not to mention straight up doubling them. Raising chip power consumption to deliver more rendering power also has its own consequences like bigger, heavier cool
ing (not just expensive, more shipping cost in bulk too), shorter battery life, so the prices scale in a hyperbolic way, not linear.
Mobile hardware already has a market penetration problem in poorer countries, so manufacturers can't just double the price on a whim because rich countries can pay for it.
The Switch is one of the most popular consoles of all time by volume yet it's still relatively rare in my country because people rather pay that Switch OLED money for a home console that has ample rendering power for AAA visuals
The person in question was saying that Sony should have used an 8 core version of the SGX543, instead of a 4 core version like they did. By the time the Vita released, the SGX543 was already 3 years old. Sony had ordered custom chips to begin with so I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that within 3 years, that Sony could have potentially gotten a more powerful and more efficient GPU than the one they actually went with, which was the point the person was trying to make. They also made the point that the Vita would have been helped if it had a faster bus, because it's 133MHz bus bottlenecked both the CPU and GPU and meant that games would suffer if everything couldn't be stored in the 128MB VRAM because of the slow access times for needing to load textures from the main memory.
Of course, this all just a what could have been scenario anyways. Unfortunately, it seems a common trend with Sony that they have ambitious ideas before others, but then fail on the execution only to be outdone however many years later.
Has anyone become a Pokémon master yet in the new game
Yeah, he can be a bit of an asshole sometimes.
playing wizardry 8, it's great and just what i've been looking for
wish i had a longer attention span
Trying Tale of Two Wastelands for Fallout: New Vegas. It's pretty fun, but as with all Bethesda's games, it crashes from time to time. It makes the Fallout 3 content a lot less boring. I'm not using many mods, just a realistic damage mod and a winter mod. Something fun about wandering around in the snow and picking everything off from a long distance.
Still need to finish Racing Lagoon…
I've tried this out a few times too. Unfortunately, because assets are reused some things would end up getting retextured by some texture enhancement stuff I used. I remember I used a sandy dirt texture that looked nice in New Vegas, but then it would crop up in the downtown DC area and look widely out of place.
Maybe I should messing around with it again.
I wouldn't really know. I've just been playing in DC so far, and I don't really use texture mods since I'm pretty used to playing games with outdated and ugly visuals. I'll let you know if I see a bunch of random snow in the Mojave if I get there anytime soon…
Bun has started hosting some games!Bunheim
126.96.36.199:2456 pw: bunbunmaru
Info: Comfy survival crafter that's co-op with opt-in PvP. Add it to your favorites!Bunbun Fun Server
Info: Co-op puzzle/fun maps that mostly consist of solving mini-challenges. Find it in the server browser or type connect ip:port in the console to join.
I'm glad you had fun with your friend, fren.
I rather buy 3 games for my playstation than one for my switch
Anybody else has this issue?
Which PlayStation, or do you just mean in terms of games you'd want to play on one console versus the other? I had a Switch for a while, but I found the library pretty lacking and mostly filled with ports besides first-party Nintendo games. In hindsight, since it was a first generation one I probably could have hacked it and gotten more use out of it, but instead I decided to sell it and get into VR instead.
Sugoi! I wanted to play through 6 7 8 at one point because they're intended as a trilogy and you can import your party between them. But I put it on hold because I had already played a lot of longer RPGs at that time and wanted a change of pace.
That sounds fun and nice.
They still make dedicated wired controllers? I wish I knew that. USB-C feels unreliable at times…
I use a wired hori mini for my ps4 when I play slow RPGs so I don't need to jump around switching controllers when I play a lot or if I have to pause gameplay, DS4s won't die so I don't feel guilty about idling them
Played OpenTTD too hard yesterday. I really enjoy it, but keeping cities happy so you can continue to build more stuff is really tiring. That and ground leveling… What a nightmare.
gonna play mmos all weekend nen
I like city building games like Anno and various other titles but I've never checked out open ttd. >>3255
Have fun and make sure to take breaks every once and awhile so your heart feels meow meows.
OpenTTD is great, I'd highly recommend it. Really fun sandbox game, it feels great to establish an efficient rail line and rake in the money.
Only problem I have with it is that once you figure things out it gets too easy. Playing online against other people is fun and brings back some challenge, but you can't really get competitive because there's too many ways to be unsporting.
I like posts like this, all of the interesting things my friends on nen are doing.
I love the music in those games, but I'm so bad at timing the button presses >_<
I tried playing dead space and it was too scary so now I'm playing Splatoon.
dead space is very scary i remember when i played it back when it originally released i only played during the day
Nen there's a demo out for the new theatrhythm game and it's fun and the characters are cute
Been playing a lot of Fortnite again next to my singleplayer offline experiences. There is tons of overpowered stuff in it and I like the current island too. It's fun.
The unreal 5.1 update made it look pretty too, even on old consoles. I was rather hyped to get a new one but I have so much games that I don't really need it, it's not like I run out of games to play anytime soon. But I enjoy the act of getting the games itself, hunting for deals and comparing prices, making offers, that's how I ended up in this situation.
Wish I had more time to play. Maybe that should be the next irl goal, minmax it and enjoy my games to the fullest.
Playing the remastered version of Metroid Prime nen.
Played lots of mmos this weekend and had lots of fun.
That has spoilers for FFXIV, frogot to mention…
What do you think about the future of ff14? Will there be new expansions? AFAIK Endwalker is supposed to be the end of story. The game is fairly popular so I would think content won't end just here even if the story does
I was personally getting kinda bored with the main plotline, though I appreciated how it wrapped up in the end. There's a lot more stuff they could add to the game, other continents and such. They've also started working more on making the world feel more alive with cool
systems like the island sanctuary, I really like stuff like that.
gaming and nenpizza
! If your computer can handle it, I've heard a lot of people say really good things about playing the new Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR.
going to game when I get home but save my nenpizza for tomorrow
Yeah sometimes I can never make up my mind, final fantasy tactics is meow meows though.
What do you do in this game
That's an easy one. I always choose games based on how much energy I have or what am I looking for. If I have a lot of energy, I go for the online multiplayer stuff, if I'm tired I just go for slower RPGs and explore, do side quests and enjoy the world in it or go for an arcade racer.
Your dilemma might stem from the limitation of having only RPGs on your plate and not branching out a little more and not having different games to match different moods and appetite
I like fire emblem too but toothpaste-chan and toothpaste-kun scare me.>>3655
Yeah, what got me interested in it was Ogre Tactics. I hope it's just as good!>>3656
Very, very cute
nenfriend, reminds me of Yumeiro Patissiere.>>3667>I always choose games based on how much energy I have or what am I looking for.
Pretty good idea, I hadn't thought of this.>Your dilemma might stem from the limitation of having only RPGs
This is probably my problem. RPGs and roguelikes are honestly 80% of what I play. I need to branch out more.
i think you make waku waku sweets with your doki doki pals
Sigh that sounds amazing and nenly
What metroid are you playing? I was playing dread which was lots of fun, but got a bit distracted and haven't gotten back to finish it off.
Metroid Prime Remastered, I haven't played the game in a long time but I do listen to the soundtrack so this is lots of fun.
I was playing Dread as well but the angry roof crab scorpion boss was too hard and I couldn't beat him…
Anyone want to join an arma 3 vindicta server sometime?
I would, but I've never played and I don't want to get bullied for being bad at video games.
the cuties rebellion accepts untrained recruits
Tried Pocky and Rocky Reshrined today. I'm not very good, but it's pretty fun.>>3763
Eh, sure. I wouldn't mind playing sometime then.
I got destroyed my first playthrough but 1cced it my next attempt. A fren had the same experience so maybe there's just a lot of stuff that gets you the first time.
I'm still not making such good progress…
the operator of the server says they'll be able to keep it up for a month, perhaps two.
the discord has the information for the server. theres only three people on it, its not really a community space, just a place for rules, registration, and an easier voicechat, really.
(i'm the only nenner)
apparently it can't take too many connections at once, but I dont expect too many people to join from here or anything, so it should be fine.
Don't think I can play until the weeknend. I'll check it out then.
Has anyone tried playing FFXI recently, that seems fun and maybe meow meows.
Isn't that private servers only
That's what I was thinking of trying, it'll probably be too much work in the end I'm guessing.
I'm going to be honest, I don't like that FF16 is an action game and I don't like the explanation either. Maybe action games are just bigger in japan and we don't get the influence because I would say action games like DMC and Bayonetta are still relatively niche on the west. I don't see how this explanation of "oh now we have the hardware so we can do it" makes any sense, it's not like there aren't any action games on weaker platforms than ps5.
Just say "we want to make a cool realtime action game because we think it's cool" and that's it. I like turn-based combat and I don't think it's inferior nor superior to real time action. It's a choice. You can do both good or badly. Even in the original FF7 Tifa had a cool combo attack that was just cool because it was well animated and the sound made sure it has impact. It had nothing to do with her being like 5 polygons or the combat being turn-based.
I don't know what was the reason behind this decision but I know for sure that hardware power has nothing to do with it.
Don't know about that controversy. I'm guessing someone said in an interview that turn based is a death sentence for a AAA game.
But I haven't had any interest in the game in the first place. Could never get into SE's Kingdom Hearts and FF15 style games. They just feel like poor action games and poor RPGs. I just assumed 16 would be similar.
I'm excited for FF16, I didn't really play 15 but 14 is a lot of fun and I hope that team does a good job with 16 too.
Patch night in Eorzea nen…
It's going to be a yay just wanted to play tonight…
I picked up Xanadu Next as it looked cool and is on sale. I'm hoping to play it this weeknend.
Finally played this. Had a bit more depth and difficulty than I expected.
Finally bought a ps5, it's amazing. Been playing FF15, waiting for 16. The console also ships with an Astro game that is meant to showcase parts of the console but it's a really cute and nenly 3d platformer.
I couldn't sleep one night a long time ago so I spent the entire night playing deathsmile
s, that was a lot of fun but I wasn't any good at it. >>4122
I like my nenstation 5 quite a bit, I've mostly played PC games but these days I split my time almost 50:50 between the two.
The astro game looks cute
I looked up a trailer for it
waiting warmly for my turn on the kusoge cab~
Are you enjoying it? FFT is one of my favorites, personally I like it better than Tactics Ogre.>>3785
I'm not very good with shmups but I managed to complete it. The unlimited continues were very lenient. You can also unlock hotaru gozen on your second playthrough if I recall.
Going to play lots of video games tonight nen
i own all those but my dodonpachi preorder hasnt been delivered yet
would like to play murige2 but never beat the first one
all the better for hearing and hunting buns
Is this like the other one where you make waku waku sweets with your frens
Moon buns are for hugging and loving not hunting.
My guild fell apart in FFXIV now it's just me and my chocobo again
Hello nen, would anyone care to try out some ragnarok online? I made a server called HataRO https://pastebin.com/4gNsHzKc
. Summary: 7x base/job, 35x log scaled drops, 5x quest, skill changes, plenty of qol, and hopefully some woe soon-ish. here is the link https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wf67B-JXpUYUfLO7MeMJ2mYfIq3TI2E5/view
password = "rage". please run the patcher first.
Awesome! Glad to see you're still around!
I'm putting the finishing touches on a few things, but I should have Yuuka done within a week or two.
I like that boss canceling is gone, but I wish level 4s still cleared some bullets. The story mode change feels a little weird but I guess it's better than the old system.
I played Diablo 4 this weekend nen and it was fun, I'm going to play a really cool necromancer when it comes out and summon lots of cool friends.
The almost year-late yuuka ported into arma 3!!!
She still needs just a little work, but I hope she lives up to nenner's expectations. Getting her model to look good was actually pretty tough given arma's limitations. But my mod is very nearly done now, and I'll hopefully have it uploaded within the next few weeks!
It looks excellent :>
Sounds fun I remember playing diablo 3 and 2 a lot when they came out but haven't been following the new one very closely. Might get it after some reviews are out
I think ARPGs need to move past the diablo aesthetic, d3, d4, poe and even lost ark kinda all look the same.
Something stylish like Hades is a good start
, what were Dark Hazzard's overall objectives after taking over the world?
They didn't think that far ahead. Don't it take it too seriously, because the ending sure doesn't.
I see, well hopefully the good battle golfers beat the bad battle golfers.
A magical garden island where you have bunny friends and lots of wonderful vegetables sounds very nenly.
Yep watched the whole playstation showcase but it's just a cgi trailer. Be cautiously optimistic
i remember liking all the other remakes like twin snakes and subsistence so im pretty happy about the new one
I enjoyed 3 a lot so this one is worth looking forward too, the jungle should look really cool
and meow meow naturey
I thought it didn't come out for another week
Blizzard doing some blood money magic type shit by giving early access to ppl who are willing to pay more, don't worry about it.
I guess so, I made a necromancer and she looks really cool
in her armor.
